This batch of Family 2026 is presented before any barrel ageing, designed to showcase the beer fresh and unadorned, or to be cellared and compared against Oak, its barrel-aged counterpart, when it's ready.
On the nose, expect layers of blackcurrant and hedgerow fruits with a gentle hint of toast. The palate is rich, thick and unctuous, delivering deep roasted malt character alongside notes of caramel, treacle, golden syrup, dark fruits and even darker chocolate. Subtle coffee notes and the lightest touch of spicy esters add further complexity before a lingering, firmly bitter finish.
